Priyanka and Aryan best actors

Kathmandu, Sept 13: Actress Priyanka Karki and actor Aryan Sigdel have been conferred on the best actress and actor award for 2071 respectively. Similarly, 'Kabbadi' bagged the best film award and its director, Rambabu Gurung the best director award.

Minister for Information and Communications, Dr Minendra Rijal, Chairperson of the National Film Development Company (NFDC), Raj Kumar Rai and Indian singer Sanjivani distributed the award amid a function organized by the NFDC in the capital city today.

Anup Bikram Shahi was awarded the best co-actor whereas Chhulthim Dolma won the best co-actress award. Similarly, Sanjog Koirala got the best new actor award while Asma DC got the best new actress.

Likewise, Chhetan Gurung won the best writer award,     Shailendra Dhoj Karki the best cinematographer, Surendra Poudel the best editor, Raj Kumar Uprety the best action-director, Tara Prakash Limbu the best musician, Yubaraj Chaulagain the best playback singer, Kabiraj Gahatraj the best dance director and Ramji Lamichane for best playback music.

Also, recognized with the award were- Uttam Neupane for the best sound recording, Bijayaratna Tuladhar for best film journalism award, Sudeep Bhupal Singh for the best Jury National Award and Kohinoor for the best commercial movie.

Each award recipient received cash prize of Rs 51,000. The awards were named after different personalities who have contributed to the Nepali film industry.

Distributing the awards, Minister Dr Rijal also hailed those artistes who were in the nomination but could not win the award.

"All artists are equally competent; so who bagged the award and who didn't is not an important thing," said Dr Rijal adding, "The most important thing is the entire film fraternity is awarded."

Audiences were swayed with the musical performance of various Nepali singers and Indian singer Sanjivani.RSS
