  • 8th NEFTA Award concludes

    Qatar, Sept. 26: Nepal Film Technicians Association (NEFTA) Award-2072 BS concluded here on 24 September by providing awards to different outstanding artistes in the field of Nepali cinema.

     

    Minister for Information and Communications Dr Minendra Rijal attended the programme as the chief guest. On the occasion, Minister Dr Rijal said that remittance has the crucial importance in Nepal's national economy.

     

    Minister Dr Rijal also said that the Nepalis earning daily wages in the Gulf Nations should not work there any longer adding that new constitution was promulgated in the country.

     

    During the programme, humorist duo Madan Krishna Shrestha and Haribansa Acharya were honoured with Kalaratna Prize.

     

    Likewise, Guinness World Record holder as the youngest film director Saugat Bista, 8, was felicitated with copper plaque from the International Artistes Forum.

     

    Chargés d'affaires of Nepal's Embassy in Qatar Maniratna Sharma, senior artistes Nir Shah, Karishma Manandhar, Raj Kumar Rai, Basundhara Bhusal and number of others actors and actress were present in the event.

     

    A total of 75 films were registered for the competition and prizes were given in 36 different genres.

     

    Talakjung Vs Tulke was awarded with the best film while director Nischal Basnet of the same film was named as the best director. Likewise, Kohinoor was named as the popular film while Aryan Sigdel was awarded as the popular male artist and Priyanka Karki as the popular female artist.

     

    Similarly, Khagendra Lamichhane of Talakjung Vs Tulke was named as the best male actor while Reecha Sharma of the same film was given the title of the best female actress. RSS
