Bardibas, Jan 9: An integrated settlement for the Musahar community is being built at Bardibas-2 of Mohattari.
The joint housing is being developed by the Dhurmus Suntali Foundation of artist duo Sitaram and Kunjana Kattel. The foundation stone for the 50-house integrated community was laid by artist duo Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansa Acharya amid a function here on Monday.
The joint settlement is estimated to cost Rs. 47.8 million collected from donors inside and outside the country through the foundation. Fifty local Musahar families are expected to receive a cemented house each on the first day of Nepali New Year 2074.
This is the third joint housing project taken up voluntarily by the Foundation after the Pahari settlement in Kavre and the Giranchaur settlement in Sindhupalchowk.
