  • Terhathum-UK Society aids Rs 1.5 million to fire survivors

    Terhathum, May 17: The Terhathum-UK Society has distributed relief amount of Rs 1.5 million to fire survivors of Sakranti Bazaar of Aathrai rural municipality.

    The Society has raised Rs 1.54 million from the Nepali people of Tehrathum living in the United Kingdom.

    Society representative Tara Prasad Limbu shared that Rs 60,000 each was distributed to the family whose house and shop was gutted; Rs 50,000 each to the family whose single house was damaged; Rs 75,000 each to the family having two houses and Rs 40,000 each to 'A' category entrepreneurs, Rs 20,000 each to 'B' category entrepreneurs, Rs 15,000 and Rs 5,000 each to entrepreneurs of 'D' and 'E' category, respectively.

    A deadly fire that broke out in Sakranti Bazaar on mid-December last year had caused damages to 29 houses and three huts.

    Rs 6 million has been so far deposited to the Relief Fund set up for rendering relief to the fire victims. RSS
